At eRichards, we believe our case studies exemplify what our clients say in their testimonials. Each case study varies, based on client environment, business issues and scope of solution. eRichards can provide your business with the same significant results! Read on to get a better idea of our capabilities.
Local Utility Company, Connecticut
This client’s website had no ownership within their organization, they were not properly funded, they did not have a charter or mission statements showing their road map for success. They did not have stake holders to act as advocates or even a steering committee to fight for their rights on budget issues.
Navigation on their website was poor and did not enable easy access for customers to pay their bills or find the information they wanted. The site looked outdated and felt clumsy.
The website was also an extension of their call center, which provided critical information to tens of thousands of customers. Scaling was also a critical issue to address large call volume in the event of weather or other events. This system had to scale and be responsive toward its users because the product that they were providing was mission critical. Under extreme circumstances if the site was down, customers lost access to critical emergency messages.
At one point, the website happened to go down and the main call center couldn’t handle the call volume. Suddenly, senior management took notice and understood how critical the website was to the company.
eRichards Consulting did a web channel assessment and addressed all of the above issues. Within a hundred days, the utility company implemented the recommendations listed above. As a result, the site became easier to use and usage increased. That usage translated to over $60,000,000 in a calendar year. People used it more instead of calling the call center. It became a valuable corporate asset which in turn increased usage.
Enzon Pharmaceuticals, New Jersey
eRichards assessed the Information Technology Department and presented our findings to the Board of Directors at Enzon. We also reviewed the SAP implementation, Infrastructure, IT Governance and the company’s people, process and technology.
Herbalife International, California
eRichards successfully implemented a custom Internet Strategy for this $2 billion company. We also developed an architectural roadmap that created a three-part Internet Strategy for the Corporate Web Site, the Distributor Portal and the Individual Distributor websites. This strategy also included an assessment of the internet capabilities for the IT department and personnel.
Nabisco, New Jersey
eRichards created the eBusiness Technical Architecture for Nabisco, while gathering the business requirements for a proof-of-concept application to provide a solution for Nabisco’s Order Entry Systems. This became the firm’s architecture of choice.
Avon, New York
eRichards was part of the team that created CASSIE (Computer Assisted Sales System Information), placing a computer in the hands of District Managers. This system provided a complete solution for running their business. Current Sales information became available for download on a campaign basis. All of www.myavon.com comes from this original system.
L.L.Bean, Maine
eRichards provided strategic consulting for architecture on both the mainframe and open system silos. We worked with their senior executives and completed a comparison of “Best Practices” for L.L.Bean’s current policies and procedures. This included a cost benefit and suggested direction for their two main computing towers: legacy and open systems.
Onyx Environmental Services, Illinois
eRichards led the IT Governance Project; we reviewed the project scope, assessed personnel and company initiatives to determine why a 500k project was 300% over budget and one year late.
Shaklee Corporation, California
eRichards worked on an assessment team that compiled a complete road map of strategy that included: web channel, infrastructure, people and process. This assessment also included a review of IBM’s implementation of Shaklee’s e-commerce site and why it failed after two days. This was a very political engagement because of the budgets and failures involved.
Pearson and Simon & Schuster, New Jersey
eRichards built major e-commerce systems used by all business groups. These systems were in place for storefronts selling books, digital content and other corporate assets. eRichards interfaced these web systems into seven of the backend legacy systems.
We also implemented the Netscape Publishing System, which provided an eRights management and subscription system for multiple business units. This site receives over 4 million hits per day. eRichards constructed and developed all web searches with Verity technology and supported business units by guiding developers through all phases of the project.
Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, New York
eRichards stabilized the WebSphere Commerce Suite platform by enhancements through multiple phases of the project. For more than 6 years, eRichards supported MoMA, during which revenue tripled and the platform stabilized. The new scalability allowed revenue to increase each year, while MoMA requested many more new features.
eRichards also completed a critical migration project that took the application from a single-tier architecture platform on iSeries to a multi-tier architecture on Windows. This resulted in revenue that quadrupled to reach millions of dollars.
Two major projects for MoMA included WCS migration and an Order Management project that touch 7 to 8 different systems, including Lawson and WebSphere.
Greenfield Online, Connecticut
eRichards built an Online Ordering system that was integrated into SalesForce.com via the sForce API. This strategic client application was a portal and pricing calculator of products for internal and external users.
